Meet Dr. Leslie McKeever
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Illinois who specializes in providing individual services to adolescents and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, transitions, identity, academic and work performance concerns, and stress. I have over 8 years of experience working in private practice, university counseling centers, schools, and inpatient hospitals. My diverse set of experiences enables me to work with a wide variety of clients dealing with a myriad of issues.
Directly prior to opening McKeever Psychology, I worked in a group practice providing neuropsychological/educational assessments as well as individual therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. I worked with individuals, families, schools, and physicians in order to diagnose and find the root of whatever was contributing to difficulty. In my work, I created individualized behavioral and academic interventions used by parents and schools to assist with academic determinations in the elementary, high school, and university settings. Additionally, I often worked with individuals in therapy to address the needs determined by their evaluations.
I received my doctorate in clinical psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and my B.A. in psychology from Georgetown University. I completed my clinical internship at Lake Forest College and my postdoctoral fellowship at Northeastern Illinois University.
I grew up on the North Shore of Chicago and attended New Trier High School. As a result, I am very familiar with the challenges and expectations for high school and college students in this area.
